
Mr. Balkind graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in Economics. He
has had a successful 20 year career in sales and marketing and has owned several
businesses. He currently sells home remodeling for Alure Home Improvements.
After a childhood filled with competitive sports; lacrosse, swimming, gymnastics and skiing to
name a few, he played college lacrosse. He has since settled into a more recreational athletic
life. He enjoys golf, skiing and scuba diving. He is an avid fan of PGA golf and just about
every other sport.
He has combined his passion for sports as well as Suspense and Mystery genres in his first
novel series; Sudden Death, a golf suspense novel, Dead Ball, a sports mystery and Stealing
Gold, an Olympic ski mystery (in the works).
Mr. Balkind also recently finished the first draft of The Fix, a college football gambling novel,
that he is co-authoring with ESPN Anchor, Ryan Burr.
Mr. Balkind also has a young reader's version of his sports mysteries being evaluated by a
publishing house now.
Mr. Balkind has written for Westchester Magazine.
He is a member of Mystery Writers of America and has been a panelist at their meetings. He
is also a member of The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.
Mr. Balkind lives in Katonah, New York with his wife, three children and Maxie the wondermutt!
