About the Author
Mr. Balkind, a voracious reader, has fulfilled a lifelong desire to write a novel. He
graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in Economics. He has
always dabbled in creative writing. His previous published writings consist of
business newsletters, marketing brochures and training manuals. He has had a
successful 20 year career in sales and marketing and has owned several businesses.
He currently works in sales for Alure Basements, a division of Alure Home
Improvements.
After a childhood filled with competitive sports; lacrosse, swimming, gymnastics and
skiing to name a few, he played college lacrosse. He has since settled into a more
recreational athletic life. He enjoys golf and plays in a weekly foursome. He also
enjoys skiing and hiking with his family. He is an avid fan of PGA golf.
He has combined his passion for sports as well as Suspense and Mystery genres in
his first novel series; Sudden Death, a golf suspense novel, The Foundation, a sports
mystery (Coming Soon) and Stealing Gold, an Olympic ski mystery (in the works).
Mr. Balkind is also just finishing the first draft of a college football gambling novel
that he is co-authoring with an ESPN Anchor.
Mr. Balkind lives in Katonah, New York with his wife, three children and Maxie the
wondermutt!
